New operating theatre Genolier Innovation Hub

The Genolier Innovation Hub is planning to build a 450 m² “operations block”. The space is slated to serve as a hub for research, development, education and training, as well as a venue for events. The primary focus, though, will be on its use as a training environment for surgeons and specialist medical personnel – as a space for practitioners to learn new techniques and test medical products.

The evaluation consists of the construction of the mock-up of the shell of the block and debriefing. Building the mock-up of the block’s shell on site allows feedback to be collected from the various interest groups. These include surgeons, doctors, specialist medical personnel, OP teams, construction partners and suppliers. The focus is on the development of the schematic design, the security of medicinal products, the assessment of equipment, patient safety, consideration of the concerns of patient-care providers and infection control as well as on dealing with patients.
