IKEA has three major focus areas for its commitment under its sustainability strategy: “Healthy & sustainable living”, “Climate action & circularity” and “Fair & equal”. IKEA Switzerland has chosen to focus on the housing situation of refugees and would like to contribute to its improvement.

The SCDH hosted a workshop to develop and discuss new approaches for concepts for accommodation in asylum centers. The workshop was attended by representatives of the Zurich University of the Arts, the non-profit organisation Architecture for Refugees Schweiz and IKEA Schweiz. Two representatives of the SDCH shared their expertise and experience in the fields of evidence-based design and social design at the workshop.
