Development of a prototype
Prototype for seating and presentation furniture for the launch of the concept of the new Switzerland-wide national exposition in 2027
The mayors and representatives of Switzerland’s ten largest cities put forth a concept for the next national exhibit, calling for the “NEXPO – The new Expo” to explore new approaches: it should be sustainable, future-oriented and, above all, decentralised. The SCDH was charged developing the prototype of seating and presentation furniture piece for the concept’s launch.
The prototype was only used once, though, during the media conference of Association NEXPO, at which the association released information on NEXPO’s postponement to 2032. The postponement was the result of a Federal Council decree in which the Council announced that it would not address the issue of a possible federal participation in the next national exposition before 2028, at the earliest.
