Medication errors are also common in Switzerland. The development of processes to improve safety is crucial. The input on simulation-based testing as part of the CAS Medication Safety at SCDH in Nidau is designed to highlight possibilities and encourage discussion.

Wrong medication, dosages or harmful interactions: medication errors are among the most common adverse events worldwide. In the healthcare sector. This also applies to Switzerland, where the healthcare system is generally regarded as being of high quality and progressive. The aim of the CAS is to provide healthcare professionals with in-depth knowledge on medication safety topics, to train them in recognising optimisation potential and to enable them to initiate, manage and monitor processes to improve medication safety in their institution.

As part of the CAS, the SCDH is designing a half-day workshop on the topic of simulation. The aim is to familiarise the CAS participants with the method of simulation-based testing and to discuss with them the advantages, challenges and potential applications in their own areas.
